Mumtrepreneur Laura Molloy relocated to Glasgow in search of a greater work-life balance. With a young family to look after, Laura became fed up of working long hours and spending more and more time away from home.
Having worked in London for global corporations managing iconic brands, Laura knew that the skills she had could benefit new-start companies who needed help with sales and marketing. In June this year, Laura took the plunge and launched RPL, providing practical training in commercial skills to small businesses.
Laura said: "The UK economy just does not have the infrastructure that would be needed to maintain a successful career and bring up a family; something has to give, and in my case it was the corporate career. I have always harboured a desire to run my own business and when my daughter came along it seemed like the right time to make the change."
"I realised my experience with big global players was something start-up businesses would benefit from. The focus is on sales, but following on from that is brand building and putting them together to create effective commercial plans. This reflects the way large companies operate therefore provides clients with an even platform to compete from in the market."
With plans for steady growth over the next few years, Laura is looking forward to a fulfilling career as well as being able to spend time with her family.
